Stoke City Betting Guide

Nickname: Potters

Stoke made their  first ever appearance in the Premier League last season and despite being tipped by many to go straight back down, they finished a respectable 12 th  in the league. You can bet Stoke fans would be pleased to see a similar finish in the league this season and there’s every chance a middle to bottom half finish could be achieved.

They had a very good home record losing only four matches all season in the league and they never lost at home to a team in the bottom half of the table. Their uncompromising style ruffled a few feathers, but it works and they will prove difficult to beat at the Britannia Stadium once more this season.

They remind us very much of Bolton when they were first promoted to the Premier League and we believe they can go on to establish themselves in the Premier League.

Goalscoring has been a bit of a problem for them, but they have been sound defensively and although they failed to find the net away fro home in more than half their games hoe form should see them stay up again.

With 74% of their home matches ending in under 2.5 goals per game this is one Stoke bet that has to be of interest and taking their home  match results to be under 2.5 goals looks worth following throughout the season. Their away form is the exact opposite with 75% of their games finishing in over 2.5 goals and betting on Stoke away matches to yield over 2.5 goals again this season could be worthwhile.

Record for Stoke against the Big Four clubs

Arsenal -              Played:  2   Won  1   Drawn  0  Lost  1

Chelsea-               Played:  2  Won 0  Drawn    0   Lost  2

Man Utd-              Played:  2  Won 0   Drawn  0   Lost  2

Liverpool              Played:  2   Won 0   Drawn  2   Lost  0

With very little data  to go on it’s hard to evaluate whether to bet Stoke City against any of the top four clubs.

Stoke have managed two 0-0 draws with Liverpool the twice they have met and a small stake on the trend of draws to continue could be worthwhile.

Most teams find their second season in the Premier League tough and we think Stoke City will find themselves near the foot of the table this season. A bet on Soke to be relegated might not be money wasted.
