Hull City secured a place in the Premier League for the first time last season and although many people had bet on Hull being relegated, they made a fantastic start to the campaign.

They caused a major upset by beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates and they looked as if they could hold their own against most of the Premier League teams.  Things started to go wrong just after the New Year and they suddenly found results hard to come by. A string of defeats caused a loss of confidence and they were soon on a downward spiral that saw them win only two matches from their last 22 played and just narrowly avoiding relegation by only one point.

How that experience has affected the squad remains to be seen. It may have helped them but we can see it having the opposite effect and if they lose a couple of games we can see their heads going down.

They will still be hard to beat at home although we can see them getting as many draws as wins and betting Hull to draw at home and scoring could be a winning combination.

We think betting on Hull to be relegated could also be worthwhile this season as we can’t see them picking up enough points at home to avoid the drop.

Hull City record against the top four -

Arsenal -       Played: 2   Won 1   Drawn  0   Lost  1

Chelsea-        Played: 2    Won 0   Drawn  1  Lost  1

Man Utd-        Played:2    Won 0    Drawn  0   Lost  2

Liverpool       Played:2    Won  0   Drawn  1  Lost  1

With not a lot of data to go on and their win against Arsenal and their draw at Liverpool achieved early in the season we think it would be advisable not to bet on Hull against the big four.
