The oldest professional team in London, Fulham were promoted to the Premier League in 2001. In their eight seasons in the Premier League Fulham have regularly been a mid table team with their best finishing position being the seventh position they achieved last year.
Roy Hodgson had Fulham playing some attractive football last season and they proved extremely hard to beat at home. Their away record wasn’t so good and they found goals hard to come by, failing to find the net in 11 of their 19 away matches. It’s possible Fulham over achieved a little last season and it will be interesting to see if they can consolidate or push on from their good performance last year.
The best Fulham bet for next season could be to place a bet on them finishing top six. A bet on Fulham to do well in cup competitions could also be worthwhile as they can be difficult to beat.
How their defence performs and how well they can play at home may well be the key to where they finish this season. If the team and defence in particular rcan reproduce last year’s form then it might be another best ever finish, if they don’t?… then it could be bottom half of the table.
Fulham record against the other top four teams since 2004/5 season
Arsenal - Played: 10 Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 7
Liverpool- Played: 10 Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 7
Chelsea- Played : 10 Won 1 Drawn 3 Lost 6
Man Utd- Played : 10 Won 1 Drawn 1 Lost 8
Last season was the first time they ever beat Manchester United in the Premier league. With a win ratio of only 15% against the top four we wouldn’t advise an away win bet on Fulham against any of the big boys, and at home possibly taking the draw against Chelsea would be a bet to consider
