Friday

Tonight (Friday) Preston are at home to Sheffield United in the first leg of their Championship play off in a game that looks wide open.

Preston are unbeaten in their last four home games and Sheffield United have only lost once n their last 10 games. The two league meetings between the teams only produced one goal and we think another low scoring affair is likely, so we’re having a bet on the under 2.5 goals 4/7 (Skybet), and we’re recommending a bet on a 0-0 correct score 8/1 (Coral).

Also tonight League One Scunthorpe play hosts to MK Dons. For most of the season MK Dons looked certainties to get automatic promotion but an awful spell of form saw then drop into the play offs. Their form has improved again and at 9/5 (Paddypower) they are a decent price to beat Scunthorpe who have only won two of their last eight games.

Our prediction is a win for MK Dons and we’re having a bet on them to win to Nil at 4/1 (Skybet). The 1-0 correct score 7/1 (Ladbrokes) is where our money is going.

Saturday

Saturday’s matches include Burnley v Reading which sees Burnley with their good home record up against Reading who have been far better away recently and are six games unbeaten. Something will have to give in this match as Burnley have won their last five at home and we think they could put a dent in Reading’s good away record.

Burnley have kept clean sheets in their last four home games and are 21/10 (Paddypower) to keep another. That’s a pretty good price and having kept clean sheets in three of their last four home games with Reading it’s a bet we’ll be taking. When it’s really mattered this season Burnley have always put in a good performance and we think they could shock Reading by winning this with a bit to spare.

We’re sticking our neck out a bit and going for a 3-0 correct score 22/1 (Ladbrokes). We will also be having a bet on Martin Paterson to score the first goal at odds of 6/1 (Coral).

The League One match is the clash between Millwall and Leeds. Millwall have won their last three home league games and will be confident of  taking a first leg lead having beaten the Yorkshire side 3-1 at home earlier in the season. The Leeds team they will face will be a totally different outfit from the one they beat earlier in the season however as they have only tasted defeat once in 10 games and have won their last three games. Our prediction in this game is a draw 23/10 (Coral). We think the 1-1 correct score could be worth a bet 11/2 (Skybet) and our first goalscorer selection in this game is Mike Grella 10/1 (Bet365).

Sunday

Sunday is the turn of League Two teams to take the spotlight  in their second leg matches and Bury will go into their match with Shrewsbury holding a slender 1-0 after a bizarre own goal late on in the first game. If the first game is anything to go by chances will be limited and so we’re selecting the under 2.5 goals option 8/13 (Skybet) as one of our bets.

Bury have great home form and with Shrewsbury having struggled all season away from home we have to tip the home win for Bury at 6/5 (Skybet).

The first leg tie between Gillingham and Rochdale finished 0-0 and with everything to pay for this tie looks wide open. Gillingham are 6/5 with Rochdale 2/1 (both Skybet) to get the win. A fired up home crowd could spur Gillingham on to victory and we’re taking a home win.
