This Weekends Best Football Bets
There look to be some decent bets around this weekend and we’ve selected a few of them for you.
Premier League
Everton have a good home record against Portsmouth with four wins and one defeat in their last five matches. Neither team have exactly looked like world beaters so far this season, but at least Everton have a win on the board, while Portsmouth remain pointless and goalless so far.
Everton are 11/10 (Ladbrokes) and look reasonably priced to get the home win. With Portsmouth struggling to score goals we think it might be a low scoring affair and are going for Everton to win to nil 15/8 (Skybet) and are going for a 1-0 correct score 7/1 (Ladbrokes)
West Ham fans haven’t been happy with their teams performances this season, but we think they can beat Blackburn and at 6/4 (Bet365) they look a good price. West Ham have won their last six home matches against Blackburn and have won three of them by a 2-1 scoreline. We’re going to back on that trend continuing and are taking West Ham to win 2-1 at 10/1 (Betfair). Mark Noble at 20/1 (Skybet) is our selection to be first goalscorer.
Aston Villa take on Liverpool at Villa Park and this match could be a close run affair. Liverpool haven’t looked too convincing so far this season and have needed late goals in their matches against Sunderland and Middlesbrough to secure the points.
Without the injured Steven Gerrard Liverpool could find it hard to create too many chances against a well drilled Villa side and we’re tipping this match to end in a draw 9/4 (Bodog). The 0-0 correct score at 8/1 (coral) looks tempting.
Championship
We’re taking Birmingham to continue their impressive start to the season and at 5/4 (Paddypower) to win at Norwich, they’re a decent price and are worth backing to win their fourth match in a row.
League One
Hereford have been shipping goals and Crewe can take advantage of their slack defence and get an away win at 7/4 (Paddypower). Peterborough 4/5 (Coral), Brighton 8/11 (Partybets) and Carlisle 4/6 (Partybets) all look likely home winners.
Leicester cab get an away win at the expense of Cheltenham and we think the 11/10 (Ladbrokes) is generous and should be taken. Take Leicester to win 1-0 7/1 (Ladbrokes)
League Two
Chester City are at home to Barnet with both teams looking for their first points of the season. Barnet have conceded seven goals in their three matches, while Chester have conceded eleven and only scored one. Barnet could be a decent bet here at 6/4 (Partybets) as it seems unlikely that Chester will be able to keep a clean sheet. The correct score of 3-1 to Barnet at 25/1 (Partybets) could be worth a small stake.
Scotland
It’s the Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers this weekend, but these matches are so unpredictable we don’t see them as a good betting proposition. Instead we’re going for Falkirk to get their first win of the season when they play Inverness. Falkirk are Evens (Paddypower) and should get that first win of the season
