Weekend Football Bets-Villa v Fulham

Premier League

Aston Villa can keep up their challenge for a top four finish with a win over Fulham tomorrow. Villa have picked up four points from their last two games against Arsenal and Manchester United and they can take advantage of Fulham’s poor away form-without a win in six matches-and pick up all three points.

Villa are 4/7 (Paddypower) and we’re recommending backing them to win and to take the correct score of 2-0 6/1 (VCbet). Ashley Young 9/1 (Skybet) is our pick to be first goalscorer.

Middlesbrough are at home to Newcastle and having only lost one of their last five games they don’t look too bad a price at 11/10 (Partybets). Newcastle haven’t won away from home this season and the 12/5 (Bet365) on an away win looks a bit short to be of value.

We’re going for a draw 9/4 (Bodog) and taking a 0-0 correct score bet at 12/1 (Betfair).

Stoke City have won their last four home matches, but they come up against hull side who have an impressive away record with only one loss all season. We don’t expect there to be a lot between these two sides and that’s reflected in the betting. Stoke are 6/4 (Paddypower) and Hull are 7/4 (Partybets). The last three matches between the sides have all ended in a draw and we think that may be the best option today too. The draw is 12/5 (Coral) and that’s our selection along with a 1-1 correct score at 11/2 (Partybets).

Chelsea play Arsenal and there’s a local Manchester derby this weekend, but we believe these games could go either way and don’t think there’s any value in selecting bets in these games.

Championship

Wolves and Birmingham meet in a top of the table clash and we’re taking a draw 9/4 (Bodog) as the most likely outcome. Our correct score selection is 1-1 11/2 (Ladbrokes).

Sheffield Wednesday look a decent price at 11/10 (VCbet) to beat Norwich and we think having won their last three home matches against Norwich, Wednesday look a great bet at the price.

League One

Northampton had a good home win over Leeds in midweek and they can win again against Colchester who leak too many goals on the road for our liking. Northampton look value at 11/10 (Coral) and we think this looks one of the best bets of the day.

FA Cup

In the cup Chesterfield 4/9 (Partybets) and Leicester 2/5 (VCbet) look solid home bets. Away wins for Wycombe 4/7 (Coral), Rochdale Evens (Skybet) and Hartlepool 7/12 (Betfair) also look likely.

We’re going to take a chance on Aldershot causing a bit of an upset at Millwall and think the 9/2 (Partybets) is worth taking.

Scotland

Hearts have won their last four home games and we think they can get a share of the points against Rangers. The draw is 5/2 (Bodog) and looks worth a bet.

Hibernian have only lost once in their last five visits to Falkirk and 15/8 (Bet365) looks too good a price to miss. We’re going for a 2-0 win to Hibs 14/1 (Paddypower).

St Johnstone are now nine matches unbeaten in Division One and they can take all three points at Dundee at decent odds of 6/5 (Ladbrokes).

In the Scottish FA Cup Airdrie 4/11 (VCbet), Ayr 3/8 (Betfair) and Livingston 4/6 (Skybet) all look to be worth a bet.
