Football Betting This Weekend- Stoke to Out Muscle Arsenal

Premier League

Not so long ago Arsenal always seemed to have trouble when they came up against the up and under style of play that Bolton employed. It will be interesting to see if they can handle the same style of play from a Stoke side that launch balls into the opposition box at every opportunity, especially from long throws.

We wouldn’t be too surprised to see Arsenal rattled by these tactics as Spurs were in Stoke’s last home match. Stoke have won their last two home matches and while Arsenal will be hard to contain we think Stoke can get a point at 10/3 (Paddypower).

We’re going for a 1-1 correct score at 7/1 (Partybets)

A couple of weeks ago a Liverpool trip to Tottenham would have been a certain away win, but since Harry Redknapp’s arrival Tottenham have improved beyond all recognition and this is going to be a tough match for Liverpool.

Spurs showed a great attitude in their midweek draw with Arsenal and although Liverpool have only dropped one point on their travels they will have to be at their best to take something from this game. We’re taking a draw at 12/5 (Ladbrokes).

Title challengers Chelsea 1/6 (Skybet) and Manchester United 2/11 (Partybets) should both secure home wins against Sunderland and Hull respectively.

Neither West Brom or Blackburn are in the best of form at present and with West Brom beginning to look a little shot shy we’re taking Blackburn to sneak all three points 9/5 (Bet365) and are going for a 1-0 correct score 6/1 (Partybets).

Championship

Leaders Wolves could be replaced at the top of the league once again on Saturday as they have to travel to in form Cardiff City who have only suffered one home defeat this season.

Cardiff are on a great run and are unbeaten in their last six games and they look a great price at 6/4 (Coral) to get a home win. We can see goals being scored in this match and are going for a 2-1 Cardiff win at 9/1 (Skybet). We’re taking Ross Mc Cormack to be the first goalscorer at 13/2 (Bet365).

We think a win for Birmingham City against Coventry may see them go back on top of the league and they look worth backing at 9/5 (Bodog) to get the win. Birmingham have won their last two matches against Coventry without conceding a goal and at 5/4 (Skybet) to win to nil Birmingham look worth a punt.

We’re having a bet on the 2-0 correct score 6/1 (Ladbrokes) and are taking Garry O’Connor to be the first goalscorer at 11/2 (Coral).

Doncaster haven’t won in 10 games and have only managed to pick up one point from their last five home matches. They already look in deep trouble and Swansea can take advantage of their poor form and seal an away win. Take Swansea at 7/5 (Partybets).

League One

Results in this league have been pretty hard to predict with everyone looking capable of getting a result against everyone else. Leeds United look as if they could get a win at lowly Cheltenham and they don’t look too bad a price at 10/11 (Coral).

League Two

Notts County are becoming something of draw specialist having drawn 9 of the 14 matches they have played this season. They play Bury at home who themselves have drawn three away matches this season. Another draw looks likely here and at 9/4 (Partybets) looks worth a bet. We’re going for a 1-1 correct score 11/2 (Paddypower).

Bradford 4/7 (Vibe) can keep their promotion challenge going with a win against Barnet and Shrewsbury look as if they will be too strong for Luton at home and are a nice price at 4/5 (Skybet).

Scotland

Aberdeen have the worst home record in the SPL at present and visitors Kilmarnock can take advantage of that poor form and get an away win. Kilmarnock are 43/20 (Bodog) and can win 1-0 21/2 (Betfair).
