Weekend Football Betting
As usual we have scoured this week’s fixtures to try and find some value bets, but we are featuring them this week as Homes, Aways and Draws for a change so you can see at a glance our best selections.
Home Wins
Bolton are our first pick and they take on Portsmouth who have only scored six goals away from home this season. At 6/5 (Partybets) Bolton look a great price and must be included in multiples.
Our prediction 1-0 to Bolton 7/1 (Coral).
The home form of Cardiff has been quite impressive of late –unbeaten in five-and the only two home defeats they have suffered this season has been to the top two sides Wolves and Birmingham. They look likely to get the win against Sheffield Wednesday who have a poor away record of two wins all season. Cardiff are 5/6 (Paddypower) and that doesn’t look too bad a price.
Our prediction Cardiff to win 2-0 7/1 (Paddypower).
Huddersfield have only lost once in five matches and if they show anything like their recent form they look sure to beat second bottom Hereford. At 4/6 (Partybets) Huddersfield look a good bet to get another win.
Our Prediction Huddersfield to win 3-1 11/1 (Corall).
Millwall who are second in League One meet bottom club Crewe and it would be a major shock if they were to be beaten. Millwall have five consecutive home wins to their credit while Crewe haven’t managed a win in their last six away games. Everything points to a home win for Millwall and we’ll be taking the 9/20 (Partybets) on offer.
Our prediction 2-0 to Millwall 6/1 (Ladbrokes).
Cheltenham have won their last three games and it could pay to side with them as a team in form in their match with Walsall. Away from home Walsall have been quite poor and they find clean sheets hard to come by. Cheltenham are attractively priced at 7/5 (Ladbrokes) and look worth a bet.
Our Prediction Cheltenham to win 2-1 7/1 (VCbet).
MK Dons are at home to Leeds who have suffered four straight defeats. Leeds are a team who look out of form and MK Dons look a great price at 6/5 (Partybets) to get a win.
Our prediction a 2-1 win to MK Dons 15/2 (Coral).
Bradford are still near the top of League Two and with their decent home form they should be able to take care of lowly Chester at 4/6 (Bet365).
Our prediction 3-0 to Bradford 10/1 (Partybets).
Away Wins
Wolves are only 10/13 (Bodog) to beat bottom club Doncaster and we’d have expected them to be a far shorter price than this. At nice odds they should be backed as they have only lost once in their last 10 games. Doncaster have only one win in six and they may find it hard to keep Wolves out.
Our prediction is a 3-1 win for Wolves 14/1 (Bet365).
Bury seem to have got over a bad spell and are now unbeaten in their last four matches. They are 8/5 (Paddypower) to win at Bournemouth and we feel they can win at decent odds
Our prediction Bury to win 1-0 15/2 (Skybet)
Celtic don’t slip up too often against Falkirk and they have recorded 8 wins from their last 10 away meetings with the Bairns. Celtic are 2/5 (Bodog) and look like comfortable winners
Our prediction 3-0 to Celtic 12/1 (Betfair)
St Johnstone are unbeaten in 12 games and they visit bottom club Airdrie in their Scottish Division One match. The Saints have already beaten Airdrie comfortably 3-1 at home this season and the 8/11 (Paddypower) on them winning is worth taking.
Our prediction St Johnstone to win 2-0 7/1 (Paddypower)
Brechin could get an away win at Alloa who are in poor form at present. Brechin at 5/6 (Ladbrokes) look worth a punt.
Our prediction Brechin to win 2-1 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
Draw
Newcastle take on Spurs and with both teams being revitalised recently we can see this one ending all square. Spurs form away from home this season hasn’t been great, but they have only failed to score once on their travels and we feel they will score at least once here.
Our Prediction 1-1 12/5 (VCbet).
Blackburn will have Sam Allardyce in charge for the first time against Stoke but he may have to wait for his first win. Six consecutive league defeats have left Blackburn adrift in second bottom place and they have looked short on confidence. Stoke haven’t won away all season, but they are solid defensively and we think they can get a point here. The draw is 12/5 (Partybets) and looks worth chancing.
Our Prediction 0-0 11/1 (Skybet).
Four of the last 7 games between Kilmarnock and St Mirren have ended in draws and the 12/5 (Ladbrokes) on offer is worth a bet.
Our prediction 0-0 9/1 (Bet365).
