Weekend Football-Take Bolton to Upset the Blues
Premier League
After their exploits at Anfield in the Champions League Chelsea are hot favourites at 3/10 (Ladbrokes) to get a home win against Bolton, but we think they could be ripe for a bit of a shock result. Teams who play in the champion’s league midweek often don’t play well in their next game and that could happen here.
You also have to take into account that Bolton have drawn three and only lost once in their last four visits to Chelsea so we think they could do well. We’re going for a 2-2 correct score at 28/1 (Coral).
Both Middlesbrough and Hull will be desperate to take all three points but both have drawn far too many lately to take either to win with any great confidence. Middlesbrough have drawn four of their last five at home and Hull have drawn two of their last five away games. The 0-0 correct score at 8/1 (Coral) could be worth a bet.
With Alan Shearer in charge Newcastle fans will be hoping he can pull the away from the foot of the table, but we think he’ll still be looking for his first win after their visit to Stoke. No wins in six for Newcastle looks likely to be extended to seven as Stoke can make it three home wins in a row. Stoke are attractively priced and can win and we’re going for a 2—0 correct score 10/1 (Paddypower).
Championship
Burnley can consolidate their play –off place by taking three points from visitors QPR. Owen Coyle’s team have a good home record and with QPR being inconsistent the home win at 5/6 (Coral) looks a good bet. Robbie Blake at 7/1 (Skybet) is our first goalscorer selection.
The big game in the Championship this weekend is the Reading v Sheffield United match. Sheffield United have moved above Reading into third position and if they can take anything from this game will keep in touch with the top two.
Reading haven’t won at home in five games and with the Blades on a 14 match unbeaten run away from home we’re tipping an away win
League Two
First play third when Brentford play hosts to Exeter and with Brentford home form not the greatest at the moment an away win at 5/2 (Paddypower) could look a decent price,.
Bury are one of the form teams in the league at the moment and they should pick up three points against Shrewsbury who can’t win away from home.
Scotland
In the SPL Rangers are at home to Motherwell who are unbeaten in their last three matches. Three of the last six games between these teams have ended in a draw and we’re going for Motherwell to take a surprise point at Ibrox. We’re also tipping a 1-1- correct score at 8/1 (Ladbrokes).
In the first division Dundee have had a string of away matches where their results haven’t been too good. They do have good home form though and now they are back at home they can take three points from Airdrie.
