This Weekend’s Football Betting Selections
We’ve picked out some bets from this weekend’s football fixtures that we think are a bit of value and can hopefully provide us with a nice profit.
Premiership
Blackburn got off to a winning start with a good away win at Everton and they can follow that up with a win against newly promoted Hull. Blackburn are 3/5 (Partybets) and although Hull will be buoyant after securing a win against Fulham this will be a far tougher test for them Take Santa Cruz to be the first goalscorer 4/1 (Skybet) and the correct score of 3-1 11/1 (Paddypower) could also be worth taking.
Aston Villa are away at Stoke and they should secure a win. Villa beat Manchester City 4-2 last weekend and looked pretty impressive. They should have too much firepower for Stoke and they shouldn’t be missed at 7/10 (VCbet).
We also think home wins look likely for Newcastle 4/5 (Partybets) and Tottenham 4/9 (Bodog).
Championship
Birmingham look a banker bet to beat Barnsley who have started the season poorly. At only 1/2 (Ladbrokes) Birmingham should be included in any multiple bets. The correct score odds for a 3-0 win are 9/1 (Coral) and that’s our predicted outcome of the match.
Coventry have started the season with two wins and although their match with Bristol City will provide them with their toughest test so far we’re going for them to win at home. The bookies seem to be still looking at Coventry’s form from last season when compiling the odds and we think they are a good price at 6/5 (Bodog) to get the home win.
We also think Preston could get a result at Sheffield Wednesday and they are attractively priced at 15/8 (Skybet) in our opinion.
Burnley have been leaking goals and Crystal Palace could take advantage of their defensive frailties and run out comfortable winners at home .Palace are 3/4 (VCbet) and look to be great value. We fancy the correct score of 3-0 to Palace at 14/1 (Bet365)
League One
We expect Leeds to get back on the winning trail at Yeovil after their defeat by Oldham and at 5/4 (Skybet) they look worth backing.
Huddersfield also look good value at 11/10 (Ladbrokes) to beat MK Dons. They had a fine win over Bradford City in their last home match in the Carling Cup and we think they’ll win today.
Leicester 4/6 (Partybets) shouldn’t have any problems securing a home win against Tranmere and look a good selection for multiples.
League Two
We’re going for a couple of away wins in League Two this weekend. Brentford have a decent chance against Barnet and are worth taking at 6/4 (Partybets). Aldershot are 4/1 (VCbet) to win at Shrewsbury but we think there’s a good chance that they can get a shock result against one of the promotion favourites.
Scotland
In the SPL Celtic 2/9 (Coral) will win at home against Falkirk and it could pay to have a bet on Hamilton 12/5 (Skybet) away to Kilmarnock. Hamilton have won their first two SPL matches and Kilmarnock struggle to score goals, so another win for Hamilton is a realistic prospect. Richard Offiong 7/1 (Ladbrokes) looks worth a bet as first goalscorer in this match.
