Tuesday’s Football Betting
Despite the severe weather conditions some games look likely to g ahead this evening and we’ve selected what we believe are the bets from the matches taking place.
FA Cup Replay
Burnley are at home to West Brom in their round 4 replay and we can see them putting up another decent show against Premier League rivals. West Brom haven’t won on their travels for a long time and although Burnley have lost a bit of form recently themselves we’re going for a home win.
Burnley are 6/5 (Partybets) and we can see them winning 2-1 19/2 (Betfair). A first goalscorer bet on Kevin Mc Donald at 16/1 (Skybet) could be worth taking.
Championship
Bristol City have a good home record and they look decent value at 3/5 (Bodog) to win at home against bottom of the table Charlton. It’s now seven away defeats in a row for Charlton and we can’t see them winning this.
Our prediction is a 3-1 win for Bristol City at 11/1 (Partybets).
Preston are unbeaten in seven at home and with opponents Plymouth without an away win in six matches this looks very much like it will be a home win. We’re going for Preston to win at 7/10 (Paddypower).
Sheffield Wednesday 5/6 (Coral) have won their last six home meetings against Barnsley and on current form you have to fancy them to win tonight. We’re predicting a 2-1 win for Wednesday at 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
Sheffield United are unbeaten in nine away matches and must have a decent chance of getting a result at lowly Southampton. The Saints have only lost one of their last four league games, but haven’t won at home for three matches. We’re going for a draw in this one at 23/10 (Bodog). The 1-1 correct score 11/2 (Partybets) is where we’ll be having a little bet.
Leaders Wolves don’t look too bad a price at 1/2 (Bodog) to get a home win over Norwich. New Norwich boss Bryan Gunn has yet to taste defeat, with a win and two draws in his three games in charge, but it looks a tough task to get anything against Wolves.
We think a correct score bet on a 3-1 win to Wolves 12/1 (Skybet) could be profitable. Ebanks-Blake at 4/1 (Bet365) is outr pick as first goalscorer.
League One
Huddersfield 4/5 (VCbet) and Northampton 10/11 (Partybets) look set to get home wins tonight and look worth including in multiple bets.
Cheltenham have slipped to the bottom of the league after a run of poor results, but visitors Tranmere aren’t good away from home and Cheltenham may be able to take something from this game.
Tranmere have never won at Cheltenham before and so we’re going for a draw 9/4 (Partybets) as the result in this match.
Scunthorpe have only lost once in six games and they look likely to edge a close game with Southend. The 13/10 (Paddypower) on offer about Scunthorpe looks decent enough to be taking and we’ll be having a small bet on a 2-1 correct score 8/1 (Partybets)
Top of the table Leicester and second placed MK Dons are both in action tonight and should pick up three points from their games. Leicester make the short trip to Walsall on an unbeaten run of 15 games. At 5/6 (Partybets) Leicester are a great bet in our opinion and shouldn’t be missed at that price.
MK Dons will have a much tougher task trying to get three points at Stockport, but they have won by the odd goal on their last two visits. We’re taking them to win tonight 6/4 (Bet365).and are taking a chance on a 3-2 correct score at 25/1 (Partybets).
League Two
In League Two we’re selecting Chester to get a draw against Rochdale 12/5 (Paddypower).
Brentford can maintain their recent good form with a win at Morecambe. Brentford look a nice price at 13/10 (Bet365) to get a win.
Exeter should get a home win against Port Vale and aren’t too badly priced at 5/6 (Ladbrokes).
