Arsenal managed to leave Old Trafford with only a one goal deficit and keep their chances of a place in the Champion’s League final alive. They will be hoping they can make home advantage count and overturn United’s one goal lead, but that won’t be an easy task.

The problem Arsenal face is trying to temper attack with defence as a goal for United would leave the Gunners needing to score three to go through. Arsenal have won the last four home league meetings between the two teams, but they have only managed to keep one clean sheet in those games and that was in a 0-0 draw which wouldn’t be enough tonight.  Currently Arsenal are on a run of 10 games undefeated at home and have been keeping clean sheets at the Emirates. They haven’t lost a goal in their last four home games and have only conceded one in their last six, so a clean sheet tonight at odds of 9/4 (Paddypower) isn’t without a chance.

Five of the last eight league meetings between the two teams has brought three or more goals and a bet on the over 2.5 goals at 11/10 (Skybet) in our opinion has more of a chance than the bet on Arsenal keeping a clean sheet.

The bookmakers can’t split the teams tonight with Arsenal and Manchester United both quoted at 13/8 (Skybet) to win tonight’s game. The draw is 12/5 (Coral) and if that is going to happen then we’d be looking at a score draw and the 1-1 11/2 (Bet365) or the 2-2 16/1 (Skybet) are the two  we believe you should be looking at if you fancy a draw.

We’re tipping goals to be scored tonight and a first goalscorer bet can through up endless possibilities, with both teams having any number of possible goaslcorers. Cristiano Ronald 13/2 (Coral) could be a good option due to his set pieces and if you think Arsenal will score first (which we do) then Samir Nasri 14/1 (Paddypower) is our choice.

Arsenal will be looking to get the early goal that will put United under a bit of pressure and with Arsenal having led at half time in over 50 percent of their home matches this season the half time/full time result of Arsenal/Arsenal is a bet we’ll be on at 4/1 (Ladbrokes). From that bet you can deduce that we are going to tip Arsenal to win tonight…and you’d be right. Unfortunately we’re not going to be tipping them to qualify 3/1 (Paddypower) as we think United can do enough to get to the final.

In a game we think will be great entertainment for the neutral we’re predicting an Arsenal win and we’re going for a 2-1 correct score.
