Premiership Champions Run In
17th April 2008

The Premiership title run in looks to be pretty much settled with Man Utd sitting 5 points above Chelsea with only four games to go. The title is Man Utd’s to lose after the unlikely Emille Heskey’s late strike forcing a 1-1 draw with 2nd place Chelsea which should have been a prime opporunity for the blues to close the gap on the leaders.
Chelsea will have to beat Everton on Thursday 17th April to stand any chance of staying in the hunt. They have a good chance to close the margin to 2 points when they face Man Utd on 26th April but they would still be relying on Utd dropping points against Blackburn, Wigan or West Ham.
Arsenal look to be out of the race on all but maths with a 9 point gap to the leaders, though you can still get odds on them with Ladbrokes offering 200-1. Man Utd are quoted as 1-25 to win the league with Chelsea at 9-1. Though the title looks to be pretty much in the bag for Utd a poor result in one of their remaining games could take the race right to the wire.
