Weekend’s Premiership Bets - Chelsea vs Aston Villa, Arsenal vs Sunderland
Saturday
After their shock defeat by Hull last week, Arsenal travel to Sunderland on Saturday hoping to get the three points to keep them near the top of the table. It’s been a decent start to the season for Sunderland but their record against the gunners at home isn’t great and we see an Arsenal away win 8/13 (Skybet) as the likely outcome. We’re tipping Arsenal to win by 3-0 12/1 (Bet365) and Robin Van Persie at 5/1 (Paddypower) to be the first goalscorer.
West Brom had a good win at Middlesbrough last weekend and they can get another three points at the expense of Fulham. West Brom are a decent price at 5/4 (Bodog) and we expect them to win by a couple of goals and are taking the 2-0 correct score 10/1 (Paddypower).
Wigan are at home to a Middlesbrough side who have yet to win away from home this season and we’re taking the home win for Wigan at 11/10 (Bet365). This could be quite a close match and so we’re plumping for a 1-0 correct score 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
Blackburn are at home to Manchester United and while they have a decent home record against United only losing one of their last four meetings United seem to be hitting form and an away win 8/13(Coral) is our selection. The 1-0 correct score is our pick at 6/1 (Ladbrokes).
Sunday
West Ham have won all their home games this season so far while Bolton haven’t won away from home. Bolton haven’t won at Upton Park since the 2005-6 season and everything points to this game being a home win at odds of 4/5 (Bet365). We predict a
2-1 win for the Hammers at 39/5 (Betfair). Mark Noble looks a decent bet at 12/1 (VCbet) to be the first goalscorer.
It’s first against third when Chelsea take on Aston Villa and despite Chelsea having a formidable home record and being hot favourites to win the match at 4/9 (Bodog) we’re taking Villa to grab a point and get the draw 10/3 (coral).
Liverpool look a side who could challenge for the title this year and we’re taking them to get an away win at Manchester City. Liverpool are odds against at 6/5 (Ladbrokes) and look worth backing. Liverpool can win a close match by 1-0 6/1 (VCbet) with Robbie Keane at 8/1 (coral) to get the goal.
Portsmouth should be too good for new boy’s Stoke and we’re tipping a home win at 4/7 (Bodog). Peter Crouch to be the first goalscorer at 5/1 9Paddypower) is where our money is going.
While Tottenham v Hull looks a likely home win on paper, given Tottenham’s early season form we don’t think they represent great value at 8/11 (Skybet). We’re going for Hull to pile on the misery for Spurs and taking Hull to win at 4/1 (Bodog).
We just wouldn’t back Newcastle at the moment and at only 4/5 (Coral) Everton look like a home banker to us. We’re going for Everton to win 2-0 13/2 (Skybet).
