The football fixtures this week are limited due to it being an International week, but there are still a few games from the lower divisions to get your teeth into if you want a bet.

Monday

Only one game tonight and it’s between League Two leaders Brentford who are away at Dagenham & Redbridge.

A recent slump in form has seen Dagenham slip from fifth to ninth in the league and although they are still in contention for a play off spot they do need to start picking up points, especially at home, where their form hasn’t been good.

Brentford are unbeaten in their last four away games and although they haven’t been scoring freely they don’t concede a lot of goals and we think they could win this game tonight.

Brentford look a decent price at 7/4 (Skybet) and we think they can be backed with some confidence.

Tuesday

League One

Carlisle have lost their last four games while opponents Hereford have lost their last five, so picking a form team in this game is pretty much impossible. With Hereford only managing to score three goals in their last six matches and Carlisle averaging only one goal a game over the same number of matches, the under 2.5 goals at 5/6 (Paddypower) is a bet that looks worth getting on.

We’re going to take a chance on Hereford getting a  rare away win and we’re going for a 1-0 correct score at odds of 11/1 (Skybet). Andrew Williams at 9/1 (WilliamHill) is our pick to be first goalscorer.

Mk Dons are warm favourites at 1/2 (Coral) to beat Crewe, but Crewe have won three of their last four away games and look capable of springing a surprise against  a Dons team who have drawn five of their last seven matches. Crewe are 13/2 (Skybet) to win and we wouldn’t put anyone off backing them if you fancy them to win. We think they may be more likely to grab a point and the draw is our selection.

Bottom club Cheltenham can pick up three vital points from their match with Oldham. Unbeaten in three games Cheltenham are our selection. We’re having a bet on a 2-1 correct score 10/1 (bet365).

Northampton and Swindon are both on 41 points, just above the relegation places. A draw wouldn’t really suit either tea but that looks as if it could be the outcome of this match. The 1-1 correct score at 6/1 (Skybet) also looks tempting.

League Two

Bury could move into an automatic promotion spot if they can beat Rotherham and we’re taking them to do just that. We’re selecting a 2-1 correct score bet at 10/1 (Ladbrokes).
