Football Bets Monday/Tuesday
Monday night’s televised match is the clash between Everton and Chelsea. In past season’s Everton’s home form has always been good and they have been extremely difficult to beat at Goodison. This season for some reason, that good home form has deserted them and they have only managed one win so far.
Scoring goals at home has also been a problem for Everton this season. They have only managed nine in their eight home league fixtures and if they were to get a win against Chelsea tonight we’d expect them to need to score at least two goals and we’re not sure they are capable of that.
Chelsea’s away form this season has been better than their form at home and they have won all their away league fixtures so far this season. They have also kept clean sheets in seven of their eight away matches with Manchester City being the only team to have scored a goal against the Blues on their travels.
With Everton struggling to find the net at home and Chelsea giving nothing away at the back the under 2.5 goals 8/11 (Paddypower) is worth some consideration. Chelsea to keep a clean sheet 11/10 (Skybet) looks goods value and Chelsea to win to nil 7/4 (Ladbrokes) looks another good bet.
Chelsea are odds on to win tonight at 8/ 11 (Partybets) with Everton at 5/1 (Betfair) and the draw 5/2 (Bodog). We’re not expecting to see a lot of goals tonight and we think Chelsea will come out on top narrowly in a close match.
We’re taking Chelsea to win by 1-0 11/2 (Partybets). We think it could be worth backing Michael Ballack 12/1 (Ladbrokes) to get the vital goal.
Tomorrow there are two Cup matches being played one in England and one in Scotland. In the FA Cup Droylesden and Chesterfield will try and finally finish their tie that was abandoned after floodlight failure last week. There were only 20 minutes left to play when the referee abandoned the match with Chesterfield leading 2-0 last week and the Laegue Two side look as if they will finish the job tomorrow.
Chesterfield are 5/6 (Bet365) and must be worth a bet. We’re predicting a 3-1 win 14/1 (Bet365).
Up in Scotland Ayr United are hot favourites at 1/5 (VCBet) to beat non league Lochee United. Lochee held Ayr to a 1-1 draw at home, but the pitch that day was like a ploughed field and was a definite leveller. Now that Ayr will have a decent surface to pass the ball around on we think the League Two side will see off Lochee without too many problems.
Our prediction for this match is a 4-0 win to Ayr United at 10/1 (VCBet).
