Football Bets for 19/20th January
Monday
The big game tonight is the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Everton .Merseyside derbies are never easy to predict and with Liverpool second in the Premier League and Everton going well at present this one will be no different.
Everton fans would like nothing better than to beat their rivals and make sure they didn’t go back to the top of the league, but it won’t be easy. Liverpool can boast a great home record that has seen them go ten games at Anfield without defeat.
Everton are also on a good run at present that has seen them go six games unbeaten, including winning their last three away matches. Everton have lost the last three meetings between the clubs, but at 6/1 (Betfair) we wouldn’t put off anyone who wants to back them.
Liverpool are 4/6 (Bet365) but for a team who have been less than convincing in some of their recent games that price could be a bit short.
We’ re going for a draw 5/2 (Partybets) and wouldn’t be surprised to see it end up 0-0 10/1 (VCBet).
League One leaders Leicester are in action at Yeovil and the 3/4 on offer (Partybets) doesn’t look too bad a price. Leicester are unbeaten in 11 games and it’s difficult to see how Yeovil are going make a serious game of it. Leicester look as if they will win comfortably and we’re predicting a 3-1 correct score at 14/1 (Skybet).
Tuesday
Manchester United will be looking to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in their Carling Cup Semi-Final against Derby. United had much of the play in the first game, but couldn’t capitalise and paid the price. we can’t see united making any mistakes this time and the 1/7 (Ladbrokes) on a United win would seem to indicate bookmakers agree.
We’re going for United to win by 3-0 11/2 (Partybets) and we’ll also be having a bet on Ryan Giggs 9/1 (Bet365) to be first goalscorer.
In league One Peterborough could close the gap on MK Dons to one point if they win, but we think they may have to settle for a point against second in the league.
Peterborough have great home form and we think they will get a draw 11/5 (Coral).
Leyton Orient have had five straight defeats at home and that could be six by the time Southend leave on Tuesday night. Southend aren’t in the greatest of form away from home at present and have lost their last four on the spin, but look worth chancing at 7/4 (Partybets) to get a win.
In League Two we’re going for Aldershot 10/11 (Bet365), Dagenham Evens (Betfair) and Port Vale 6/4 (Paddypower). We’re going for Darlington 5/4 (Ladbrokes) to get all three points from their visit to Accrington, who haven’t managed a win in eight games.
