Liverpool v Fulham Preview

Following the Arsenal v Stoke City match, Liverpool (6-4-7) take on Fulham (2-10-5) at Anfield on Saturday. It’s the last fixture of the afternoon and Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will be facing Fulham, his former side. Liverpool have struggled this year but they should be able to take this match.

Liverpool played to a 0-0 draw against Utrecht in the Europa League on Wednesday with their second string in. Fernando Torres was left out of the match but should return against Fulham. He has 3/1 odds at Bet365 to score first. Steven Gerrard will also be making his return against Fulham. The scoring power couldn’t come at a better time for Liverpool after losing to Newcastle 3-1 last weekend, sparking rumours that Hodgson might quit.

At home, Liverpool have four straight wins at home and have kept a clean sheet. Fulham are the third worst offensive side in the Premiership and haven’t scored in five of the last six meetings at Anfield. The under 1.5 goals market has decent value with 9/4 odds at Bet365.

The last match between these two clubs produced a 0-0 draw, which in fact has been the result in four of the last nine matches. Fulham fell in the Premier League table early when star forward Bobby Zamora went down with a broken leg. He is still recovering and is back in training. Fulham are hovering just above the relegation zone at 17th in the league table. Liverpool are ninth. Clint Dempsey has tried to fill Zamora’s shoes and has five goals. He has 12/1 odds at Bet365 to score first on Saturday. However, Fulham have no away wins in the last 26 matches so expect a low Liverpool victory in your online betting.
