Leeds v Nottingham Forest Preview

Two sides vying for a promotion from the Championship meet Saturday with Leeds hosting Nottingham Forest at Elland Road. Both teams are looking for a final push and Leeds are the favourite to win the match.

Leeds, currently at fifth place in the Championship, are unbeaten in 12 matches at home. 75% of their home matches have resulted in over 2.5 goals. They have two wins, two draws and two losses in their last six matches, while failing to score their last two times out. Those two disappointing results were a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United and 0-0 draw with Ipswich. That scoring drought should change on Saturday against a spotty Nottingham Forest defence.

Jake Livermore is on loan from Spurs to Leeds. Luciano Becchio has 16 Championship goals, including 13 at home so he is a great bet to score first in the match with 9/2 odds at Ladbrokes. Billy Paytner is suspended. Don’t count out Nottingham Forest though as Leeds have kept only one clean sheet in the last seven matches.

Nottingham Forest, in sixth place, have lost three of their last four matches and gained just one win in the last 10. As we come down to the wire, they need to get back in the form they were before as unbeaten in nine fixtures. They have plenty of draws but need three points against Leeds. Kris Boyd on loan from Middlesbrough is a good bet to score first with 7/1 odds at Ladbrokes. He scored for the first time with his new club last weekend in their 3-2 loss to Swansea.

As far as trends go, the last two matches between these sides at Elland Road have ended in 1-1 draws. The game at Nottingham Forest also ended at 1-1 so a correct score bet of 1-1 on Saturday is a tempting bet with 11/2 odds at Ladbrokes.
