Intertoto Cup Matches
Some player’s may still be sunning themselves on a beach in a luxurious exotic location, but for others this Saturday will see them lining up in a bid for European glory in the Intertoto Cup.
There are 14 matches being played in the Second round of the competition tomorrow and we’re going to try and pick out a few tasty bets for all you punters out there.
There’s one British team in action tomorrow Hibernian from the SPL and they are at home to Swedish side Ellfsborg. Hibernian have only been back in training for just over a week while Elfsborg have already played 12 league matches and sit second in their domestic table having lost only once so far this term.
The lack of match fitness for Hibernian could be a concern against a side that should be at their peak physically and the SPL side could have a tough match on their hands.
Normally we’d expect Hibs to win this match comfortably, but with it being so early in the season we’re going to go for a draw 5/2 (Skybet). The 1-1 correct score 11/2 (William Hill) is where our money is going. If Hibernian are fit enough to put in their usual performance then the 11/10 (VCbet) on them winning could be a steal, but you would be taking a chance on them being ready for a competitive game of this nature.
Czech side Teplice look more than capable of beating Honved from Hungary. Hungarian football has been in decline for some time and Teplice look value at 4/7 (VCbet) to see off the Hungarians.
Grasshoppers from Switzerland play Albanian side Besa and this looks a banker bet for the Swiss team. Grasshoppers have played in the Intertoto cup before winning three and drawing one of the four matches they have played. They are 2/7 (Betfair) and must be included in any multiple bets at this price.
Irish side Bohemians travel to Latvia to play FC Riga and they will be buoyed by their 9-3 aggregate win in the last round over Welsh side Rhyll. They’re 6/4 (Skybet) to win tomorrow and we think that’s a great price for a team who sit top of their domestic league. We’re taking them to win 2-1 9/1 (Paddy power) and also think the half-time full-time result of Draw/Bohemians at 9/2 (Paddy power) is worth taking.
Other bets we like tomorrow include Rosenborg to beat Ekranas at 4/7 (Bet365). Greek side Panionios to win away at OFK Belgrade 9/5 (Paddy power) and Shakhtior Soligorsk to win away in Austria against Sturm Graz 6/1 (Paddy power).
TPS of Finland could make fitness tell against their Danish opponents OB and they look a decent price at 17/10 (Bet365).
