This Week’s International Friendlies
There are a number of International friendlies taking place this week as some teams use these games to gear up for Euro 2008 while others try out new players in preparation for upcoming 2010 World Cup Qualifiers.
Here at Footbalbetting.net we’ve picked out some of them that offer good betting opportunities to punters. While some matches look a little one-sided and odds are a bit skinny on some of the likely outcomes, it’s worth considering backing some of the more short priced teams in multiple bets to get a decent return.
Tuesday
Poland warm up for Euro 2008 with a home match against Albania and the Poles will be looking for a confidence boosting win before they set off for Switzerland next week. At 8/15 (Bet365) Poland look a decent bet and are definitely worth backing. They’re likely to score a few goals in this match and the 9/1 (Partybets) for a 3-0 win is a decent price.
Like Poland the Czech Republic are preparing for Euro 2008 and they are long odds on 1/4 (Coral) to beat Lithuania but this looks a banker bet given the Czech’s home record and they should be included in any multiple bets. Best Bet-Take the Czech Republic to score in each half 5/6 (Paddy Power).
France look to have an easy task when they face Ecuador in Paris and 2/7 (Ladbrokes) may look good value come the end of the 90 minutes. Best bet-Over 2.5 goals 4/5 (Partybets)
Wednesday
England play the USA at Wembley tonight and this will be a good test for both teams as they look to prepare for the 2010 World Cup. England could play a number of uncapped and fringe players in this match and this could be quite a close game. Given that the US players are in the middle of their MLS season and the English players have just finished a tough campaign fitness could play a part in this game and at 6/13 (Betfair) England may not be great value. We think this could end up all square and the 11/4 (Skybet for the draw could be worth backing. Best Bet- Landon Donovan to score anytime 9/2 (Skybet)
Wales have shown an upturn in form over recent games and they look good value 7/4 (Bet365) to get a win in their match away to Iceland. Best Bet- Correct score Wales to win 1-0 6/1 (Paddy Power)
Thursday
Best bet today has to be Turkey to beat Finland 4/5 (Coral). Given the home record of the Turks and the fact Finland don’t travel too well the home win looks to be a certainty and the odds are decent too. Best Bet- Correct Score 3-0 Turkey 16/1 (Paddy Power)
Friday
The Czech Republic are back in action today against Scotland and with the Scots looking set to be without many regulars they may field a somewhat experimental line-up and the Czech’s look to strong and the 7/10 (VC bet) for a Czech Republic win looks decent value. Best Bet- First Goalscorer Jan Koller 11/2 (Bet365).
