Tuesday Night Football Bets-FA Cup Matches
There are quite a few cup matches taking place across the country tonight and we’ve selected what we believe to be the best bets on offer for the games.
Portsmouth won’t be relishing their visit to Bristol City after the 0-0 draw at Fratton Park. The first match was a pretty open affair and plenty of chances were created during the game, but neither side could take advantage.
With only one win in their last eight matches Portsmouth are hardly in the best of form at present. With Bristol City having won their last two home fixtures after a pretty dismal run of form you have to think they could be capable of causing a little bit of an upset tonight. Bristol City are 7/4 (Paddy Power) and worth backing. Portsmouth are 6/4 (Partybets) if you fancy them.
With Portsmouth not hitting the net with any regularity we’re going for a 1-0 win for Bristol City at 15/2 (Skybet) and we’re having a little bet on Stern John 7/1 (Ladbrokes) to be first goalscorer.
Burnley haven’t won in four matches, but we believe they can get back to winning ways in their tie with QPR. The away form of QPR hasn’t been good this season and with Burnley having won three of the last four matches between the clubs at Turf Moor, the 11/10 (Bodog) being offered for a Burnley win looks value to us.
We’re going for Burnley to win 2-0 11/1 (Betfair).
The prospect of a plum fourth round home tie against Aston Villa should be a big enough incentive for both Cheltenham and Doncaster in their match tonight. Championship Doncaster have won their last couple of games and at Evens (Partybets) are worth backing in his match against a team third from bottom of League One.
Championship title contenders Birmingham and Wolves lock horns in what could prove to be a very even contest. Neither team are in sparkling form at present, Wolves haven’t won in three matches, while Birmingham have only won one of their last four.
We’re selecting Birmingham to go through to the next round mainly because of their good record against Wolves. Birmingham are unbeaten in six matches against Wolves and with home advantage the 13/10 (VCBet) has to be seen as a decent price. We’re going for Birmingham to just shade it and we’re selecting a 2-1 win for Birmingham at 8/1 (Bet365).
Crewe may be bottom of League One, but their current form isn’t too bad with three win sin their last seven competitive matches. Opponents Millwall haven’t won any of their last four matches and coupled with the fact they have only managed one draw in their last four visits to Crewe we’re going for a home win in this match.
Crewe are 19/10 (Bodog) and while not a brilliant price still look to be worth backing.
Swansea 2/3 (Bodog) should be too good for non league Histon and we can’t see Histon repeating their defeat of Leeds in the last round. Swansea to win 3-1 12/1 (Partybets) is our prediction.
Sheffield United 4/5 (Coral) have to be fancied to beat Leyton Orient. Since their win in the last round against Bradford Layton Orient have failed to win a game and we just feel they will be vulnerable at the back to the Sheffield attack.
In the other tie being played tonight Norwich look a banker bet to beat Charlton. Both teams are struggling at the foot of the Championship table, but at least Norwich have won one of their last seven matches. Opponents Charlton have just completed an unenviable club record of going 17 matches without a win and to be honest that record could be stretched by a few more games yet.
Norwich at Evens (VCBet) look one of the best bets of the evening. We’re selecting Norwich to win 1-0 5/1 (Partybets). A small bet on Mark Fotheringham to get the opener at 22/1 (Bet365) could net a nice return.
