Euro 2008 Latest Betting

The Euro 2008 Championships reach the Semi-Final stages this week and we’re having a look today at some of the bets still available that may be worth getting on.

Outright Winners

Pre tournament favourites Germany are now once again favourites to win the title after reaching the semi-finals. They seem to have the easiest task of the remaining teams coming up against Turkey, but in a competition that has seen form turned upside down we think a better bet may lie in the other two semi-finalists Spain and Russia. although it’s difficult to predict which one of these two teams may reach the final.

Outright betting-Germany 6/4 (Partybets), Spain 13/8 (Paddypower), Russia 4/1 (Skybet) Turkey 14/1 (Bet365).

To Reach the Final

Betfair are offering prices on the teams to reach the final and with Germany looking favourites to reach the final that is reflected in the price of 5/19.

Spain are 7/11 while Russia are 6/4 and are both worth considering as they don’t actually have to win in the final. At 3/1 Turkey are the outsiders but if you think they will beat Germany then you will be better taking the match odds of 36/5 (Bodog) for a Turkey win than backing them at these odds to reach the final.

We think Russia are good value here and are worth a bet.

Name the Finalists

We fancy Germany and Russia to be the two teams contesting the final and you can get 2/1 (Bet365) on that happening.

Germany & Spain are a best priced 5/6 (Coral)

Turkey and Spain are 13/2 (Bet365)

While the least likely two teams to meet in the final are Turkey and Russia who are priced at 11/1 (Paddypower).

A bet that we find interesting is the Stage of Elimination Bet for Spain. They are 6/4 (Paddypower) to be eliminated at the Semi-Final stage and with tough opponents in Russia we reckon this semi-final could go all the way to a penalty shoot-out and think the odds here are worth considering.

Russia at 3/1 (Skybet) to be beaten finalists is another bet we think could be worth a flutter and is one we will be getting on.

David Villa with 4 goals is current top goalscorer in the tournament and he is 8/13 (Coral) to win the Golden Boot. We think it could be worth taking a chance on Roman Pavlyuchenko to finish as top goalscorer he is currently only a goal behind Villa and at 13/2 (Bet365) provides a bit of value.
