Championship Playoff Final - Reading v Swansea

The League One Playoff Final between Huddersfield and Peterborough is Sunday but the Championship Playoff Final between Swansea and Reading at Wembley is Monday. The odds are close in this one with each outcome offering a nice payout.

Swansea are looking to be promoted to the Premier League for the first time since the 1980s. Manager Brendan Rogers was once the boss at Reading but got Swansea a six match unbeaten run to finish third in the league table. His side scores first in more than half of their matches. Stephen Dobbie has four goals in his last four matches, making him a good bet to score first with 8/1 odds at Paddy Powder. Dobbie’s recent play earns him a spot up front next to Fabio Borini over Scott Sinclair. Other than Dobbie, midfielder Darren Pratley has two goals in his last two fixtures, and two scores in three times out against Reading. Pratley is a decent bet to score anytime with 9/2 odds at Paddy Powder.

Swansea are the second-best defence in the league with just 42 goals conceded this term. Reading have scored just once in their last five fixtures against Swansea, and each of the last four matches between the two have gone under 2.5 goals, so don’t expect much scoring.

Reading ended the season with just one loss in 18 matches. They beat Cardiff 3-0 in the playoff semifinals. Shane Long has 25 goals and is the favourite to score first with 11/2 odds at Paddy Powder. Both sides like to score late as Reading have 20 goals in the last 15 minutes of matches while Swansea have 15.

It is expected to be a tight affair at Wembley with 17 draws for Reading on the season. We may see extra time in this Championship Playoff Final.
