Champions League- Celtic Can Upset United
Although Manchester United were comfortable 3-0 winners at Old Trafford a fortnight ago, they will find Celtic far more difficult opponents at home and this match could be a close run thing.
Celtic have a formidable home record in Champions League matches with only two defeats in 18 games. In these eighteen matches Celtic have kept 12 clean sheets and may keep another tonight.
With Celtic still missing two of their main strikers set pieces may be their best opportunity to get a goal. They have plenty of options in Nakamura, Robson and Moloney at free-kicks and all are capable of producing a goal. We’re going to have a bet on the under 2.5 goals tonight at 5/6 (Skybet) as we think it’s going to be a close match.
Manchester United are 4/6 (Ladbrokes) to win and that looks a fair price. The draw is 5/2 (Partybets) and we were tempted to go for a stalemate at that price. At 5/1 (bet365) we think Celtic maybe overpriced given their good home forming the competition and we’re going for them to cause something of an upset and win 1-0 9/1 (Partybets).
We’re having a bet on Shaun Maloney to get the vital goal and he is 14/1 (Coral) to be first goalscorer.
Arsenal beat Fenerbahce 5-2 in Turkey and despite two poor league results we believe Arsenal will get back to winning ways tonight. We’re selecting an Arsenal win at 1/3 (Paddypower) and are going for the 3-0 correct score 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
We’re also having a bet on Fabregas to be first goalscorer at 9/1 (Partybets).
Villareal beat Aalborg 6-3 at home and they can get a win in Denmark at odds of 2/5 (Bodog). Aalborg look capable of scoring tonight so we’re going for a 3-1 correct score to Villareal 27/2 (Betfair).
In tonights other matches we’re going for a home win for Lyon v Steau Bucharest. Lyon were victors in a 5-3 thriller in Bucharest and look worth backing even at 4/11 (VCbet).
Benzema 7/2 (Ladbrokes) is worth a first goalscorer bet in this match.
Bayern can win in Italy against Fiorentina who have drawn two of their three matches so far. Bayern are 7/4 (Bodog) which looks decent value.
Juventus beat Real Madrid 2-1 in Italy, but Real can get their revenge tonight and go back top of the group. We think Real are hard to oppose and look to be fairly priced at 4/6 (Coral). We’re going for a 2-1 win to Real 7/1 (Party bets).
At odds against of 13/5 (William Hill) we think Dinamo Kiev look the best value of the night to beat Porto. Dinamo can qualify for the next round with a win tonight and having already beaten Porto away we’re selecting a 2-1 correct score 8/1 (bet365).
We’re going for a draw 12/5 (Ladbrokes) in the BATE v Zenit game and are taking the match to end 0-0 10/1 (Paddypower).
