Champions League Qualifying Games Wednesday 6th August
The second qualifying round of the Champions League continues tonight with second –leg ties taking place. We think there are a few value bets around in some of the matches tonight and there looks to be a few decent betting propositions for punters.
We’ve selected a few matches that look as if they can provide a nice profit at decent prices.
BATE v Anderlecht
BATE from Belarus caused a bit of an upset when they won in Belgium last week against the more fancied Anderlecht. They came from a goal down to win 2-1 and by the end of the match they had Anderlecht all over the place and looking a thoroughly dispirited team. While that result was a shock it was by no means a fluke and with Anderlecht odds on at 4/5 (Partybets) to win away from home tonight we’re going for BATE to win again at home.
At 3/1 (Skybet) we think BATE look great value and are taking them to win 2-1 12/1 (Bet365).
Rapid Vienna v Anorthosis
Cypriot side Anorthosis look a decent price at 11/2 (Partybets) to get a result in Vienna against Rapid. Anorthosis won 3-0 in the first match and were never in any real trouble. While we think the match tonight might be closer we’re going for Anorthosis to win 1-0 11/2 (VCbet) at what we think are pretty attractive odds.
Dinamo Tblisi v Panathinaikos
Dinamo Tblisi look to have it all to do in trying to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg in Athens. While that task may be beyond them, the first leg score flattered the Greek side slightly as Dinamo had a few chances on the night but failed to take them.
In front of their home fans we think Dinamo can win tonight’s match and are attractively priced at 5/1 (Bodog).
Wisla Krakow v Beitar Jerusalem
Wisla are 2-1 down from the first leg, but with home advantage tonight should come out on top tonight and the 4/6 (Coral) looks worth taking. We’re going for a 2-0 win to Wisla 6/1 (Ladbrokes) as the most likely outcome.
FC Artmedia v Tampere
FC Artmedia hold a 3-1 lead from the first leg and look likely to win with a bit in hand with home advantage tonight. Artmedia are 4/6 (Betfair) and the 2-0 correct score at 6/1 (Paddypower) could be worth backing.
Basel v IFK Gothenburg
This game is finely balanced at 1-1 and while the advantage would appear to be with the Swiss champions having scored an away goal in the first match, this game is still up for grabs.
Basel are 2/3 (Bodog) to win tonight and we think Gothenburg at 5/1 (Partybets) make more appeal. Basel scored in the first match with the only real chance they created during the 90 minutes and Gothenburg created quite a few chances they failed to convert. With a little more composure in front of goal Gothenburg could win this and the 1-0 correct score 10/1 (Paddypower) could provide a return for your money.
