Best Football Bets for Monday 15th
There are quite a few Scottish Cup replays taking place today (Monday) including two lunch-time kick off’s at Dalbeattie and Lochee. There is also Championship and SPL action tonight live on satellite TV.
In the Championship, strugglers Charlton are at home to Derby and this looks a decent chance for Derby to get back to winning ways after a recent slump in form. Charlton haven’t won in 12 games and they look to be in serious trouble already at the foot of the table. Charlton do always seem to find the net at home and the both teams to score bet at 11/8 (BET365) is worth backing.
Derby have been going through a poor patch recently and have only won one of their last six games, but Charlton have been so poor recently we think Derby at 15/8(Ladbrokes) have to be backed to win.
We’re tipping Derby to win 2-1 at odds of 9/1 (Partybets).Kris Commons 14/1 (Ladbrokes) looks worth backing to be first goalscorer at decent odds.
There’s SPL action tonight when Motherwell take on Kilmarnock. Motherwell have slipped to third bottom of the table after a poor run of form that has seen them take only one point from a possible fifteen. Kilmarnock’s form is probably worse than Motherwell’s at present with six defeats in their last seven SPL matches.
Motherwell can go above Kilmarnock if the take all three points tonight, but Kilmarnock have a decent record at Fir Park and with both teams so out of form we’re sitting on the fence and going for a draw 9/4 (Partybets) in this one. Our selection is a 1-1 correct score at 6/1 (Skybet). Connor Sammon 9/1 (BET365) could be worth a small stake to be the first goalscorer.
Also In Scotland there are a few Scottish Cup tie’s being played and in the early kick off matches at 1:45 we’re going for Ayr United 3/10 to beat Junior side Lochee Utd. We’re also taking South of Scotland League side Dalbeattie Star to see of Highland League side Forres Mechanics. Dalbeattie are 4/9 (VCBet) and look likely winners.
In other cup matches Third Division side Dumbarton are on a good run of form at present and they cold be worth backing at 3/1 (Skybet) to get a win at home against First Division Ross County.
Stranraer are bottom of Division Two and they look to have a tough match away at Third Division Forfar. Stranraer have only managed one win in their last five visits to Forfar and a minor upset looks more than possible here. We’re tipping Forfar at 8/5 (Partybets) to win and we’re going for a correct score of 1-0 7/1(Coral) to be the outcome.
Elgin City actually beat Spartans last week in this competition, but the SFA ordered the match to be replayed because Elgin fielded an ineligible player. Elgin won 2-1 in the void match but there wasn’t a lot between the teams and we think a draw 5/2 (Ladbrokes) could be the outcome this time. We’re taking a 1-1- correct score 6/1 (Paddypower.)
