Tuesday Night Football
Champions League
The big match tonight is the Celtic v Arsenal game in Glasgow. Arsenal warmed up for the clash with a comprehensive 6-1 thrashing of Everton at Goodison and a repeat of that level of performance would make the Evens (Paddypower) on offer a steal.
Celtic at Parkhead in a European tie is a tough place to go and get a result though and with the Scottish side having beaten Premier League teams like Liverpool, Manchester United and Blackburn in European competition this game is by no means a foregone conclusion for Arsenal.
Just three defeats in 14 European matches against English opposition should be enough to make Arsene Wenger’s men wary and at 16/5 (Skybet) for a Celtic win there should be plenty of takers at that price. Both teams play a pretty open game, with Arsenal extremely effective on the break and so we can see goals in the game the over 2.5 goals at 21/10 (Bet365) could be worth a bet in this match.
We’re going to take a chance on Celtic getting the draw 12/5 (Coral) and we’re predicting a 2-2 correct score at 16/1 (Bet365). Our pick to be first goalscorer is Scott McDonald 8/1 (Paddypower).
Also in the Champions League we’re taking Olympiakos to get an away win against FC Sheriff 8/11 (Coral) and we think the result could be 2-0 6/1 (Ladbrokes).
Premier League
Chelsea make the journey north to take on Sunderland and although they are odds on at 4/7 (Ladbrokes) to win we think this will be a close match.
Sunderland played well against Bolton to get an away win, but they rode their luck a little defensively and we can’t see Chelsea letting them off the hook like Bolton did. Chelsea are our choice to win the match and we’re selecting a 2- 1 correct score 8/1 (Skybet).
Wigan looked pretty impressive in their opener against Villa and they can take all three points from their match against Wolves. Wigan are 4/5 (Ladbrokes) and look as if they can win this with a bit in hand.
We’re tipping Wigan to win by 3-0 14/1 (Skybet)
Championship
From the Championship matches taking place tonight we think one of the best bets could be Middlesbrough 5/4 (Bet365) to win away at Scunthorpe. Middlesbrough looked quite impressive in their win at Swansea at the weekend and they look worth a bet at the price to follow up with another victory here.
Coventry are the only team in the league to have won both their matches so far. They visit Doncaster - who have drawn both their matches so far-and look to have a decent chance of making it three wins in a row.
Coventry 9/4 (Bet365) get our vote to get a narrow win. We think the match could end up 1-0 15/2 (Coral).
