Arsenal v Tottenham Preview

The first match of this weekend’s Premier League action just so happens to be the best one with Arsenal taking on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon. The stakes are high in this North London Derby as the Gunners will be looking to take the top spot in the Premiership if Chelsea falter against Birmingham City. The Spurs can gain a lot of ground into the top four clubs in the league table with a win as well. A Spurs win might push Manchester United past Arsenal.

These bitter rivals produce some great football matches. In the last 10 fixtures, Arsenal won four, Tottenham won two and the other four resulted in draws. Notably, the Spurs haven’t won a single match at the Emirates Stadium during that span. The last meeting between the clubs at the stadium resulted in a 3-0 victory for Arsenal.

The Gunners are riding high after last weekend as the only one of the top four clubs in the Premier League to come away with a victory, which came at Everton. They now have three wins and two losses in the last five matches. The attack has been quiet with only six goals in five matches, while the defence has compensated letting in only four goals.

The Spurs also won last weekend with a win at home over Blackburn. They now have two wins, two losses and a draw in the last five matches. Their attack has been more potent at 10 goals scored in the last five matches, but the club has conceded an alarming 10 goals as well in that span.
Arsenal are underpriced because being the underdog means nothing in the Premiership this year and Tottenham could very well come away with three points on Saturday.
