The South American qualifiers are reaching the final stages and most games this weekend will have some sort of impact on who will qualify for the finals. The top four finishers all qualify with the fifth placed team facing a play off match 4th placed team from North, Central America & Caribbean.

With Brazil and Paraguay already having qualified there are only two qualifying places left with six teams having a chance of claiming the final two automatic places.

On Saturday Colombia are at home to Chile with both teams desperate to claim all three points. If Chile were to win then they would claim one of the two remaining qualifying spots, while a defeat for Colombia would all but end their chances of reaching South Africa.

Colombia have had decent home form throughout this competition and they are a vastly improved team from the one who started this competition. In their last three home matches they haven’t conceded a goal and Chile will find them hard to break down. At 6/5 (Paddypower) Colombia are a decent price, but opponents Chile are in good form too and might offer better value.

Chile’s only defeat in their last six games was away against Brazil and at odds of 5/2 (Bet365) they are a good price.

We’re predicting a win for Chile and think a 2-1 correct score bet 11/1 (Coral) can provide us with a winner.

Argentina desperately need three points if they are to even make the play off place. Diego Maradona was brought in as manager to boost an ailing campaign, but they have lost four of their last five games and are struggling. Luckily they are playing bottom club Peru who haven’t managed a point away from home and are long odds on 1/7 (Coral) to win.

We can’t see them being beaten and we’re tipping a 3-0 win 7/1 (Skybet). Lionel Messi 3/1 (Paddypower) is our first goalscorer pick.

If Ecuador win against Uruguay then they will be favourites to claim a qualifying spot as their last game is at home to Argentina. They haven’t lost at home since their first qualifying match but we think they might have to settle for a point here and we’re predicting a draw 5/2 (Coral). We’re having a bet on a 1-1 correct score 6/1 (Skybet).

We’re taking Venezuela and Paraguay to share the points in their match. A half time /full time bet of Paraguay/Draw at 14/1 (Paddypower) is worth considering in this match.

Our prediction is a draw 5/2 (Coral).

Having already qualified Brazil will want to put on a show for their fans and we can see them winning by a few goals in Bolivia. Brazil 4/5 (Bet365) are a good price as we expected then to be far shorter. We’re predicting a 4-2 win for Brazil 66/1 (Bet365).
