A Draw Looks the Answer in Merseyside Derby
Three of the last six Merseyside Derbies played at Anfield have ended all square and we wouldn’t be surprise to see this match end in a draw. Everton appear t be improving all the time and with Liverpool also putting a little run of form together in the league (unbeaten in six) a stalemate might be the bet to get on. We are tipping a draw 5/2 (Skybet) and we think a 0-0 correct score bet at 10/1 (Bet365) can be a winner.
Burnley have lost their last four league matches and haven’t won in six, but we’re betting on them ending that run at home on Saturday against West Ham. Burnley can go above West Ham with a win and with West Ham only managing one away win so far this season we think Burnley could be a bit of value at 8/5 (Bet365) to get a win. We re predicting a 1-0 win for Burnley 7/1 (Paddypower) and think Steven Fletcher 6/1 (Paddypower) can bag the goal.
Birmingham haven’t lost to Wolves in their last seven meetings and in current form we think a bet on the exchanges laying Wolves might be a good idea. Birmingham 8/11 (Ladbrokes) look a good bet to us and we are predicting the home win.
Championship
Fourth placed Swansea have a good home record and they look set to take all three points against Preston. We are predicting a home win 5/6 (Coral) with a 2-0 scoreline 15/2 (Skybet). Craig Beattie 13/2 (Skybet) is our first goalscorer selection.
Reading don’t get many away wins , but they always seem to do well at Doncaster and with the home team three matches without a win at home Reading could run out winners at a decent price. Our prediction is a win for Reading 9/5 (Ladbrokes) by a 1-0 scoreline 8/1 (Coral). Shane Long is 8/1 (Ladbrokes) to be first goalscorer and is worth a bet. The under 2.5 goals 4/5 (Paddypower) looks a likely winner.
League One
It’s back to league action for Leeds after their recent cup exploits and with opponents Hartlepool out of form, the away win is a pretty good price at 8/11 (Bet365). A Leeds win by 3-1 14/1 (Skybet) is our tip. Robert Snodgrass is our first goalscorer selection at 15/2 (Paddypower).
We think Swindon and Charlton might share the points in their match. Swindon have only lost at home once on the league this season and Charlton are undefeated in their last six away games ,so we don’t think there will be a lot between the two teams. The draw 23/10 (Coral) is where our money is going.
League Two
Darlington’s last win was away at Rotherham and we are taking them to do the double and get an unexpected win at odds of 8/11 (Skybet). Try a bet on a 2-1 correct score 16/1 (Coral).
Scottish Cup
St Mirren play Rangers in a rehearsal of the CIS Cup Final and you have to go back to 1972 to find the last time t he Saints beat Rangers in a cup competition. We are having a bet on both teams to score in the match at Evens (Paddypower) and will be having a bet on Rangers to win 4/11 (Coral) by 2-1 7/1 (Ladbrokes). Have a bet on Nacho Novo 9/2 (Paddypower) to be first goalscorer.
Celtic should dispose of Dunfermline but they are very short at 2/7 (Coral) and we are having a bet on them to win to Nil 11/10 (Skybet) instead.
Inverness are capable of pulling off a surprise at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock and we think they are worth a little bet at 10/3 (Coral). We’re predicting a 2-1 win for Inverness at odds of 14/1 (Coral).
