Tuesday Night Football
There are a couple of matches being played tonight with the Carling Cup semi final between Blackburn and Aston Villa live on Sky Sports1.
Carling Cup
The semi final first leg between Blackburn and Aston Villa looks as if it could be quite a tight affair. The teams met in the FA Cup last week where Villa ran out 3 -1 winners at home, but we expect this to be closer.
Blackburn aren’t in the best of form at the moment and have gone 8 games without a win, but they have only been beaten twice at home this season and should give Villa a pretty stern task in this match.
Aston Villa have only suffered two defeats in their last 10 games in all competition and look serious challengers for atop four finish this season. They have a pretty decent record at Blackburn and have won 3 and lost 2 of their last 5 away games at Ewood Park. Three of these five games have yielded three or more goals, so a bet on the over 2.5 goals 21/10 (Bet365) could pay off.
We‘re we’re predicting Villa to get the win at odds of 7/5 (Ladbrokes) and think a small bet on a 2-1 scoreline 9/1 (Skybet) can bring some winnings. In the first goalscorer betting the two players we think could be o the scoresheet first are David Dunn for Blackburn at 8/1 (Paddypower) and for Villa Richard Dunne at 40/1 (Paddypower) might be an outsider to consider.
Premier League
Stoke haven’t won a league match in six attempts but opponents Fulham have dreadful away form and haven’t managed a win on the road in 8 matches. If Fulham could sort out their away form and pick up a few points on their travels they would chasing a top four spot. They have won away in Europe recently and against a Stoke side who have only scored in one of their last six league games, the odds of 7/4 (Bet365) on the away win don’t look too bad.
The lack of goals for Stoke has to be a worry going into this match and that’s the main reason they are on offer at 13/8 (Coral) to get a win. In the last six games between the two teams there has only been four goals scored, so the under 2.5 goals at 3/5 (Bet365) is a bet we recommend.
We’re predicting a win for Fulham and think the bet on them to win to nil 7/2 (Paddypower) could be worth a small stake. We’re going for a 1-0 scoreline 7/1 (Skybet) with Bobby Zamora 13/2 (Coral) to get the goal.
