World Cup Qualifiers-Scotland to win Make or Break Tie against Macedonia
The World Cup qualifying groups are now reaching the later stages and there are some vital ties being played this weekend.
To have any chance of qualifying, Scotland must beat Macedonia at Hampden and they are 8/11 (Coral) to get the win. This hasn’t been a great campaign for the Scots so far, but we’re taking them to get the win they need to keep their hopes alive.
We’re predicting a win for the Scots with a 2-1 correct score 17/2 (Skybet).
Northern Ireland look to have a tough task away to Poland but they are extremely resilient and hard to beat these days and this could be a really close match. Poland are 4/7 (Coral) with Northern Ireland 5/1 (Paddypower) to get the win. Northern Ireland do look a little overpriced, but they have lost away from home twice already in the group.
We think Poland may just edge this game as home advantage could prove a deciding factor. We’re predicting a Poland win with a correct score of 2-1 7/1 (Ladbrokes). Ebi Smolarek at odds of 7/1 (Coral) is our first goalscorer pick.
The Republic of Ireland are still in with a great chance of qualification and are still unbeaten in their group. They have a tricky looking fixture away in Cyprus and we think they may have to settle for a point from this game. Cyprus have only los to Italy at home in the group matches and have found the net in all their home games. A bet on the over 2.5 goals 11/10 (Coral) could provide some winnings.
Our prediction is a draw 12/5 (Bet365) and the 2-2 scoreline at 20/1 (Skybet) could be worth backing.
Israel could be worth a bet at 8/13 (Ladbrokes) to get a win against Latvia. This is a very tight group with the play off place a realistic goal for both these teams. Israel can win narrowly and our prediction is a win for Israel with a 2-0 correct score 6/1 (Skybet)
If Portugal don’t take anything from their match in Denmark then their World Cup campaign looks over. They have drawn too many of their matches and we won’t be rushing to have bet on them at 13/10 (Coral) to get a win. Denmark remain unbeaten in the group and a win here would all but see them win the group. A draw 21/10 (Paddypower) wouldn’t be a disaster for Denmark, but at 23/10 (Bet365) to get the home win they area good enough price to be getting on.
We predict a win for Denmark with a 1-0 correct scoreline 7/1 (Bet365). Soren Larsen 8/1 (Paddypower) is a decent price to be first goalscorer.
In the South American qualifiers a defeat for Argentina at home against Brazil would make automatic qualification quite difficult. Brazil top the group five points ahead of Argentina in fourth place and taking three points would seal their qualification. The match ended 0-0 in Brazil and the draw 23/10 (Ladbrokes) could be the best option to take here. We’re predicting the match to end in a 1-1 scoreline 11/2 (Coral).
Chile are only a point behind Brazil in the group and should get a comfortable home win against Venezuela. We’re going for a home win 2/5 (Paddypower) and think a bet on a 3-1 correct score 12/1 (Skybet) could turn a nice profit.
