Weekend Football - Wolves Win Looks Good Bet
This week we’re splitting our selections into Homes, Aways and Draws and picking out the best bets we can for you.
HOMES
Wolves v Portsmouth
Wolves shipped a few goals at Sunderland last weekend, but they did manage to score a couple and it’s their ability to find the net that should see them claim all three points from their home match against Portsmouth.
Pompey just can’t seem to keep a clean sheet and they now look to be in serious trouble even at this early stage of the season.
Our prediction is a Home win 11/10 (Coral) with a 2-1 win for Wolves 15/2 (Bet365).
Derby v Sheffield Wednesday
One win in six isn’t great form, but we think Derby could pick up the points from their match with Sheffield Wednesday. The form of Wednesday isn’t brilliant either, and we’re going to take the home team to get a narrow win.
Our prediction is a win for Derby 11/8 (Ladbrokes). A 2-1 win 15/2 (Paddypower) and Gary Teale to be first goaslcorer 14/1 (Bet365) are another two bets we think are worth considering.
Everton v Stoke
Everton have overcome a poor start and are now looking more like a top six team. They should get the better of Stoke at Goodison and we’re taking a home win 4/7 (Ladbrokes).
Our prediction is a 3-1 win for Everton 14/1 (Skybet).
Stockport v Southend
Stockport look a very good price at 6/4 (Paddypower) to get a win against Southend. They haven’t lost in four games and have decent home record against Southend. The over 2.5 goals Evens (Bet365) and the 2-1 correct score 9/1 (Skybet) are other bets we recommend in this match.
Barnet are unbeaten in five at home and should make that six against Grimsby. We’re predicating the home win 5/6 (Coral).
AWAYS
Watford v Cardiff
Cardiff travel to Watford this weekend and with the home side without a win in three now, we’re taking Cardiff to grab all three points.
We’re predicting a Cardiff win at odds of 7/5 (Ladbrokes)
Darlington v Macclesfield
Darlington are still without a win so far this season and it could pay to take Macclesfield to get an away win here at 17/10 (Ladbrokes). We’re going for a repeat of last season’s result and taking the 2-1 scoreline 9/1 (Coral).
Kilmarnock v Aberdeen
Aberdeen have won on three of their last four visits to Kilmarnock and a bet on them at odds of 9/5 (Paddypower) looks worthwhile.
Our prediction is a 1-0 win for the Dons 7/1 (Ladbrokes) and we’re tipping Charlie Mulgrew 16/1 (Bet365) to be first goaslcorer.
Dumbarton v Stirling Albion
Dumbarton haven’t managed a win at home yet this season and with table topping Stirling Albion the visitors this weekend that statistic looks as if it will remain intact.
Stirling at Evens (Paddypower) to get the away win and that appears to be good value.
DRAWS
Leeds v Charlton
The top of the table clash between Leeds United and Charlton looks like it could end all square. A point would probably suit both teams as neither would want to drop three and lose ground at the top of the table.
The draw is 5/2 (Ladbrokes).
Millwall v Tranmere
Tranmere managed their first win of the season against Wycombe last week and we’re tipping them to get another point away at Millwall. The draw is 11/4 (Paddypower) and we’re also selecting a 2-2 result 22/1 (Skybet).
Rangers v Celtic
Normally if you score first in an Old Firm game, then you will go on to win it. With Rangers finding goals hard to come by and Celtic still trying to find their style of play a draw 9/4 (Bet365) could be the safe option here.
We’re predicting this match to end in a 0-0 draw 9/1 (Skybet).
