Carling Cup- Young Guns to see Off Reds
Best Bets: Fisrt goalscorer Arsenal v Liverpool – Eduardo 11/2 (Skybet).
Chelsea v Bolton Draw 4/1 (Bet365).
The Arsenal v Liverpool clash in tonight’s Carling Cup will see both teams use fringe and young players in their line ups. Liverpool will leave out Gerrard and Torres for tonight’s game and that could have a significant impact on the outcome.
Arsenal do look to have more strength on depth and although they will be under strength too, Eduardo, Bendtner and Nasri look far more capable deputies than the one’s Liverpool will be calling on.
Four home wins on the bounce in the league and a run of no defeats in 9 in all competitions shows how good Arsenal’s form has been of late and we have to say the 11/10 (Ladbrokes) on offer about a home win looks a very good price indeed. Opponents Liverpool bounced back from a well publicised run of four defeats to beat Manchester United, but the team tonight will show lots of changes from the one that beat United and the 13/5 (Coral) about them getting the win is just about the right price.
From a betting point of view you really cannot discount the draw 12/5 (Paddypower) as the last four league meetings have ended all square. Liverpool haven’t won away against Arsenal since 2000 and while that run has to come to an end some tome, we don’t think it will be tonight.
There are usually a few goals in the matches between the two sides so the over 2.5 goals 5/6 (Paddypower) is a bet we will be on.
We’re predicting a win for Arsenal and we’re tipping a 3-1 correct score 16/1 (Ladbrokes). Our selection to be first goalcorer is Eduardo 11/2 (Skybet).
Bolton have managed three draws from their last five visits to Stamford Bridge, but haven’t beaten Chelsea in their last 11 attempts. Bolton are 4/1 (Bet365) to get a draw tonight and are in decent form having lost only one of their last seven games in all competition. The teams are due to meet again in the league at the weekend and it’s not unusual for a total reversal results to occur when that happens. Even so we can’t see Bolton winning tonight’s match at 10/1 (Skybet).
Chelsea are long odds on at 1/3 (Ladbrokes) to get a win tonight and although it will be a major shock if they don’t win, we think Bolton might manage to hold them for 90 minutes and so we’re tipping a draw.
Our prediction for tonight’s game is a draw with a 1-1 scoreline 10/1 (Coral). Having a small bet on Chelsea to win in extra time 8/1 (Paddypower) could also be worthwhile.
No matter what team Manchester City put out tonight against Scunthorpe we expect it to be good enough to get a win. Scunthorpe are huge outsiders at 14/1 (Skybet) to beat City, but we’d advise keeping your money on your pocket rather than squandering it on a shock result.
We’re selecting Manchester City to get a win 1/5 (Ladbrokes).and we’re also going for the 3-0 correct score bet 6/1 (Bet365).
