Weekend Football selections - Hull to Throw the Hammers
Premier League
Matches between Liverpool and Manchester City are usually pretty close affairs and the winning margin in the last 13 meetings has been a single goal. Liverpool are available at 13/5 (Paddypower) to win by a single goal with City available at 5/1 (Bet365) to win by a one goals margin.
We believe this will be a very close match and we’re predicting a draw 12/5 (Coral). It wouldn’t be a total surprise to us if the game finished goalless and so the 0 – 0 correct score bet is our pick at 11/1 (Skybet).
Hull are unbeaten in three at home and opponents West Ham are without a win in five away games, so this does appear to point to a home win at 7/5 (Ladbrokes). The Hammers haven’t been good on their travels so far and a win for Hull has to be our selection. We’re tipping a 2-0 scoreline 13/1 (Paddypower) and going for a bet on Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to be first goalscorer at odds of 13/2 (Bet365)
Championship
QPR could win at decent odds away at Doncaster. The home side haven’t won in three and with Rangers in good form currently and having won their last two away games, were tipping them to make it three away wins in a row.
Our prediction is an away win for QPR 13/10 (Coral).
Watford should get a home win against Scunthorpe and at only 4/5 (Bet365) look worth including in multiple bets. Scunthorpe have lost four in a row and aren’t playing well s we can only really see one outcome.
League One
Leaders Leeds face a difficult trip to Brighton where the home team have improved dramatically since the arrival of new boss Gus Poyet. Brighton are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions and at 3/1 (Skybet) could be worth a little bet here to take the three points. Leeds have only suffered one defeat so far this season however and have won their last four matches against Brighton.
We do think the feel good factor at Brighton could inspire the team to cause an upset and we’re going for a home win with a 1-0 scoreline. We’re picking Nicky Forster to be the player to pop up with the opening goal at 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last 8 home matches and even with Hartlepool in good form we think a home win should be the bet to take here. Huddersfield have been scoring for fun at home and taking the over 2.5 goals 8/11 (Paddypower) as well as the both teams to score bet 8/11 (Skybet) should bring some winnings.
We’re predicting the home side to win 3-1 12/1 (Skybet).
League Two
Barnet remain unbeaten at home and with Port Vale hard to beat away from home, a draw 11/5 (Ladbrokes) looks the most likely outcome in this game.
Bradford have only managed one win in their last seven league games and with opponents Accrington only suffering two defeats in their last eight games in all competitions the 7/2 (Skybet) on offer for an away win could be worth taking.
Accrington haven’t lost to Bradford at Valley Parade in three meetings and us’ think they can extend that run. We’re going for an away win and think a 2-1 correct score bet 14/1 (Coral) could yield a profit. Robert Grant 17/2 (Bet365) is our first goalscorer selection.
Scotland
Four of the last five meetings between Dundee United and Celtic have finished in draws. United four of the last six at Tannadice have also finished all square so a draw looks an extremely good bet at 5/2 (Coral). Both teams to score 5/6 (Skybet) looks a bit of a banker and should be taken.
We’re predicting a 1-1 draw 11/2 (Paddypower).
Motherwell have shown improved form since Jim Gannon’s arrival and they look a big price at 13/10 (Coral) to get a home win over Aberdeen. Our prediction is a home win by 2-1 9/1 (Skybet).Ross Forbes 8/1 (Coral) is our selection to be first goalscorer.
