This weekend we’re concentrating on the Premier League and Championship matches for our betting selections.

Premier League

Stoke City  have found wins hard to come by in their last few league matches, but opponents West Ham are also finding things tough at present and haven’t won for six games. Stoke relied on good home form last season and bookmakers make then favourites for this match at 11/10 (Ladbrokes) on the back of that.     West Ham do have good record against Stoke being unbeaten in five and not conceding a goal on their last three visits to Stoke. We think it could pay to go for an upset and bet on an away win.

Our prediction is an away win for West Ham 13/5 (Bet365) and we’re also tipping a 1-0 win 8/1 (Coral).

Arsenal are a short price at 1/6 (Paddypower) to get a home win against Birmingham. We think this will be a case of just how many Arsenal will win by and we’re tipping the over 2.5 goals 4/9 (Skybet). We’re also tipping the match to end in a 4-0 scoreline 8/1 (Bet365). The bet on Andrey Arshavin to be first goalscorer at 5/1 (Paddypower) is also worth considering.

Although Portsmouth managed their first win of the season last time out, we think it’s worth betting on Tottenham to get an away win in this match.

Tottenham are 8/11 (Coral) and we think they’re worth a bet to win and we’re predicting a 2-1 scoreline 7/1 (Ladbrokes).

Liverpool have won their last six matches against Sunderland, but the Wearsiders are unbeaten at home this season and look like a team who do well this season. A bet we would be interested in is taking both teams to score 4/5 (Skybet). We’re also tipping the over 2.5 goals 4/5 (Skybet).

Our prediction is this match will end in a draw 5/2 (Ladbrokes) and we’re selecting a 2-2 correct score 14/1 (Coral). First goalscorer bets we think are worth considering are Dirk Kuyt 7/1 (Ladbrokes) and Darren Bent 7/1 (Skybet).

Championship

West Brom will be looking to get back on the winning trail after going three matches without managing a win. They are at home to Reading, who have had a poor start to the season and it would be a surprise if they could take anything against the Baggies.

We’re predicting a home win for West Brom 8/13 (Bet365). A 3-1 scoreline 14/1 (Skybet) is our predicted result.

In fourth place in the league at present Cardiff City will be looking to maintain their promotion challenge with a home win against Crystal Palace. Games between these two teams rarely throw up a lot of goals and so we expect a low scoring match. A half time/ full time result of Draw /Cardiff 7/2 (Paddypower) and an under 2.5 goals bet 9/10 (Bet365) can both bring a return on your stake from this match.

We predict a home win 4/5 (Ladbrokes).

Unbeaten at home this season Bristol City should maintain that record against Peterborough. We can’t see beyond a home win 4/5 (Bet365) and we’re predicting a clean sheet for the home side too at 13/10 (Paddypower).

Our predicted result is a 2-0 win for Bristol City 6/1 (Ladbrokes). Paul Hartley looks worth a little bet at 14/1 (Skybet) to be first goalscorer.

Blackpool look a banker home bet against a Plymouth side that appear to be struggling this season. At 4/5 (Coral) Blackpool look a decent price and should win.

League leaders Newcastle are unbeaten in four games now and they can extend that run with an away win against Nottingham Forest. We think this will be a close game, but we’re having a bet on Newcastle 7/5 (Paddypower) to provide us with a winning bet.

Our prediction is a 2-1 result 8/1 (Coral). We advise a small bet on Kevin Nolan 8/1 (Bet365) to be first goalscorer.
