Who Will Win Group C

Teams:

France, Italy, Holland ,Romania

This group has been dubbed “The Group of Death” because of the quality of the teams in it.

France play with pace width and fluidity and their player’s are technically gifted. They normally play with a lone striker, but the fantastic movement within the team means he is very rarely isolated. They will be one of the most attractive teams to watch in the competition and have stars like Henry, Makelele, Viera and Ribery. Despite their attacking play can sometimes struggle to break down teams. Look sure to qualify.

World Champions Italy play a 4-3-3 formation with two wide front men supplying the ammunition for striker Luca Toni. They are not as negative as they once were bit are still excellent defensively and won’t lose many goals. Italy performed poorly at the 2004 Championships and were eliminated at the group stages. If they keep playing in the more attacking style we’ve seen from them recently they should win the group, if they revert to the old negative style they could struggle.

Holland have a lot of good young talent in their team but that lack of experience could count against them when they meet the more experienced Italians and French. They only managed to take one point from group rivals Romania in qualification and they will have to improve if they don’t want to finish bottom of the group. Capable of beating anyone on one of their good day’s but they are too inconsistent. Van Persie and Van Nistelroy likely to be their star players.

Romania are outsiders of the group but they must think they have a real chance of upsetting the big two in the group. They lost only one of their twelve qualifying matches. Their recent 3-0 win over Russia proves they are capable of holding their own at this level, but it’s unfortunate they have been drawn in such a tough group. Their main player is striker Adrian Mutu and he will cause problems for the opposition in this group.
